My proudest fish would have to be my personal best smallmouth bass that I caught on the Mississippi River last year. I plan to beat that soon. ;)
My Favorite professional bass fisherman is Seth Fieder because he's from Minnesota and I got to watch him win the Toyota Angler of the Year tournament on Mille Lacs Lake in Garrison Minnesota. Not to mention, in three days he caught over 75lbs of smallmouth bass.
My favorite species to fish for, by far, is the smallmouth bass. Not only do they take a lot more skill to catch than largemouth bass, but they also, in my opinion, fight a heck of a ton harder.
My favorite lake to fish would also have to be Mille Lacs. I mean, come on. It's a world class smallmouth fishery, how could it not be my favorite. ;)
Ever since I was young I've been out fishing, but it wasn't until I joined the Brainerd warrior fishing team that things began to "click." Only about two years ago I could've been referred to as one of those "kids" who would always be on their Xbox 360 playing Call of Duty and GTA V, but the fishing team brought out another side to me that I never really knew was there. Let's just say, I'm addicted to bass fishing. To this day I haven't even touched a video game console for over a year and I never plan on turning back. The fishing team has opened doors for me I never thought possible and has changed my future's plans forever. I go out fishing at least over a hundreds days per year and haven't ever had a dull moment, even when we don't catch anything. The highschool tournaments our team participates in are also an awesome part of being on the team. Depending on how well you do, you could win up to thousands of dollars towards your college student loans. Pretty cool right? Anyhow, enough about my life, let's move on.
My parents are a huge factor for my fishing success. Always supporting me, they help me motivate myself to never give up and to always look at the bright side of things. My dad always enjoys going out fishing with me as much as I do with him, so we are usually the two goons that go out together the most often. My dad and I both kind of started out with the same amount of knowledge about bass and their reactions to different baits and their environments, so this really helps because then we can both learn new things together.
My most substantial fishing accomplishment so far would have to be my first place finish last spring in our catfish and sucker competition where I cranked down on a huge twenty-eight and a half inch channel catfish.
