We are the Brainerd Warrior Fishing Team!
We are a High School and Middle School Fishing team in Brainerd, MN. Serving students in 6th – 12th grade in the Brainerd Public School District (ISD 181).
What We Do
Our team gives students the opportunity to catch some Bass, Walleye, Northern Pike, Perch and more! Our team participates in tournaments, fundraisers, seminars and practices that are fun for the students, instructors and boat captains! We also give back to our local community and sponsors by volunteering in local events. In the team’s first year, two of our students won the state championship and were able to move on to the national tournament in Illinois! We will give you the tips and teach you the tricks to become a well-rounded angler.
Who Should Join Our Team
Any ISD 181 student who is going into 6th grade through 12th grade who is interested in becoming a better angler, or just wants to get out fishing, we are the team for you!
How To Join
Our Season starts in February of each year and runs year round. We will put up posters and update this page and our Facebook page with these important dates each year.
Weekly Virtual Tournament
With the newest DNR guidelines it is still causing limitations for us to meet as a group and participate in team events. However, we are extremely happy to announce that there has been a Brainerd Lakes Youth Weekly Fishing League created that starts today!!! The weeks run Wednesday through Sunday each week throughout the summer.
You can get to the link by clicking on the link below.
Youth Virtual Fishing League app
No need to pre-register just start fishing. We have preloaded all the kids names who signed up for the team this year. We are encouraging all anglers to participate and to get out on the water. I think they will have fun! I have included a user guide attached to this email and the contest rules can be viewed in the app.
The first contest starts today and runs through Sunday. The following Wednesday a new contest will start. We are still working on the prizes.
To determine your angler number, open the app and visit the Leaderboard tab. Click on your name and view the second line, it will say angler ##., remember this number and use it each time you enter fish throughout the summer, It will not change.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
